Taking monkey head mushroom tablets has basically no effect on checking Helicobacter pylori. Monkey head mushroom tablets have the effect of nourishing the stomach and harmonizing the middle, and are used for stomach pain caused by chronic superficial gastritis. Currently, there is no clear evidence that monkey head mushroom tablets have an effect on checking for Helicobacter pylori. The methods of checking H. pylori are in the form of 13C-urea breath test, gastroscopy to take gastric mucosa tissue for laboratory tests, and blood sampling to check for antibodies. Different forms of examination have different influencing factors. Take 13C-urea breath test as an example, the influencing factors are as follows. 1. Food factors: Many carbohydrate foods have the ability to enrich 13C, which can increase the concentration of exhaled 13CO2 and produce false positive results. Eating other foods affects the interaction between taking urea and H. pylori, which decreases the concentration of exhaled 13CO2 and produces a false-negative result. 2. Drug effects: Studies have confirmed that the recent use of antibiotics, acid suppressants, bismuth, proton pump inhibitors, H2 receptor antagonists, and some traditional Chinese medicines have a significant effect on the detection of H. pylori. 3. Exercise factor: When detecting 13C-urea breath test, after taking 13C-urea, strenuous exercise increases the concentration of 13CO2 exhaled, producing false-positive results.
