Fritillary has the effect of clearing heat and removing toxins, eliminating carbuncle and draining pus, diuretic and diaphoretic (to improve the problem of dribbling in urine and the problem of small amount of urine not being able to pass), which can be used to treat phlegm-heat, asthma and coughing, feverish drenching (burning and stinging pain is obvious when urinating, accompanied by frequent urination and urgent urination, and discomfort of pulling in the small abdomen), carbuncle, swelling, and poisonous sores.
Fishweed is pungent in flavor, slightly cold in nature, and belongs to the lung meridian. This medicine has the effect of clearing heat and removing toxins, eliminating carbuncle and pus, diuretic and detoxicating, and can be used to treat lung carbuncle (similar to lung abscess in modern medicine, a disease in which carbuncle and pus are formed in the lungs), spitting pus, phlegm-heat coughing and wheezing, damp-heat diarrhea (diarrhea caused by feeling damp-heat), heat shower, carbuncle, swelling, sores and poison and other diseases.
This medicine can be used fresh or dried to take internally in decoction, and can also be used externally. Note that it is not recommended to take this medicine for cold deficiency and yin sores.
