What’s with the bad taste in your mouth?

Bad taste in the mouth may be related to physiological causes such as not paying attention to oral hygiene, or it may also be related to orogenic halitosis, nasopharyngeal diseases and other non-orogenic halitosis.
1. Physiological reasons. When people do not pay attention to oral hygiene, food residues, oral mucosa shed cells and bacteria are easily retained in the mouth, resulting in bad taste in the mouth; consumption of garlic, onions and other stimulating foods can also occur temporarily bad taste in the mouth.
2. Pathologic causes.
(1) Oral origin bad breath. When a person suffers from periodontal infection, oral ulcers, dental caries, tooth stumps, crowns and other diseases, it is easy to have bacterial growth, causing a bad taste in the mouth.
(2) Non-oral bad breath. Purulent tonsillitis, sinusitis and other nasopharyngeal diseases; Helicobacter pylori infection caused by acute and chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers and other gastrointestinal diseases can also cause bad taste in the mouth.
In addition, when suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis, uremia and other systemic diseases can also cause a bad taste in the mouth.
