Sanshen Tang is effective in clearing deficiency heat, draining liver heat and brightening the eyes. San Shen Tang is often used to treat conditions related to liver and kidney deficiencies, burning eyes from deficiency heat, and blurred eyes.
San Shen Tang is from “Wei’s Family Collection”, the original formula consists of three medicines: Chuan Huang Lian (川黄连), Angelica Sinensis (当归) and Almonds (杏仁). Chuan Huanglian is used to clear heat, and Angelica sinensis can tonify blood and regulate menstruation, and invigorate blood circulation. A small amount of almonds tonifies the liver and kidneys. The whole formula can tonify the deficiency heat of the liver and kidneys, reduce the smoldering of the eyes in order to enhance the eyesight, and can also treat dry eyes, cataracts, tearing, swelling and pain and other lesions.
San Shen Tang is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the medicinal ingredients. Caution should be exercised if there is evidence of solid fire or liver fire. During the period of taking the medicine, pay attention to a light diet.
