Preoperative localization methods for lung nodules include hooked wire localization method, medical glue combined with methylene blue localization method, fluorescence localization method and so on. 1. Hooked wire localization method: Generally, under CT guidance, a metal wire with hooked wire is inserted through the chest wall next to the lung nodule until the nodule is identified during surgery and then removed. There will be some pain after placing the wire, so reduce exercise so as not to aggravate the pain in the lungs; if the wire is placed at the back, please lie on your side so as not to compress the wire. 2. Medical glue combined with methylene blue localization method: under the guidance of CT, determine the position of the needle, and inject medical glue on the edge of the nodule and the pleura of the dirty layer. At the same time, CT examination is performed to determine whether the injection site is correct. The advantage of this method is that the combination of medical glue and methylene blue can quickly form a high-tension elastic membrane in the body, thus protecting the lung tissue. 3. Fluorescence localization: Indocyanine green is a water-soluble substance that can produce fluorescence. After injecting a small amount of indocyanine green near the lung nodule, the location of the nodule can be easily recognized by thoracoscopy which can detect fluorescence during the operation. The advantage of this method is that the dye is injected only around the lung nodule, eliminating the need for wire fixation, causing no pain, and reducing the risk of pneumothorax and bleeding. The method of preoperative localization of lung nodules should be matched to the way chosen by the doctor. After clear localization, resection of the lesion and standardized treatment will lead to a cure.
