Patients itching after hemorrhoid surgery may be caused by surgical incisions and surgical scars, as follows: First, surgical incisions: for patients in the early postoperative period, itching is a relatively common phenomenon after surgery, because most surgical incisions for hemorrhoids are open incisions, and open incisions will have continuous exudation, and the exudation will lead to increased local secretions in the anus, which will stimulate the skin around the anus, and produce itching symptoms. Secondly, surgical scars: Patients whose incisions have completely healed after hemorrhoid surgery may also experience itching because of local surgical scars in the anus, which can lead to uneven anal edges and poor anal closure due to contracture of the scars, which may cause mucus or fecal water from the intestines to seep out around the anus, thus triggering itching symptoms.
