What is the disease of cracked tongue

  A cracked tongue is called a fissured tongue, also known as a furrowed tongue. Cracked tongue can be seen as cracks on the back of the tongue that are arranged in different directions, varying in number, depth and length.  Patients with fissured tongue usually do not have obvious painful symptoms, and many patients come to the dentist with abnormal tongue color after oral examination or consumption of easily stained foods that stain the deeper fissures. Another part of the cracked tongue due to deep cracks can be seen in the deep cracks without tongue coating, some deeper cracks can be seen in the residue of food residue. Deep fissures can be painful and uncomfortable due to infection caused by imperfect oral cleaning, and this usually requires prompt consultation with the oral mucosa department. Guttate tongue usually does not heal on its own. Guttate tongue is a crack of varying depths in the muscles on the back of the tongue, and therefore does not heal on its own.  For cracked tongue must do a good job of oral cleaning, when cleaning the tongue so that the back of the tongue is bowed convexly between the teeth of the lower jaw, in this case the cracks on the back of the tongue is easy to unfold, so that it is easier to clean the food residue and bacteria on the inside of the cracks. At the same time, we should pay attention to oral hygiene, avoid spicy stimulation, quit smoking and alcohol. Eat a balanced diet and have regular oral examinations.
