HPV18 positive indicates that the body is infected with HPV18 positive, a high-risk type of human papillomavirus. HPV is divided into high-risk and low-risk, and type 18 belongs to high-risk. If HPV continues to be positive for more than two years, it may cause changes in cervical cells, which can develop intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer, so a simple positive HPV18 may have no symptoms. If cytologic lesions occur, cervical cancer or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia may develop, which clinically manifests as inflammatory changes such as cervicitis, cervical contact bleeding, and cytopathic lesions.
