It has the effect of warming the kidneys and assisting yang, and is used for impotence and spermatorrhea. Bai Bu has the effect of moistening the lungs and lowering the qi (moisturizing the lungs, making the lung qi of the upward rush descend), relieving cough, killing insects and lice, and is used for the treatment of consumptive cough, new and long term cough, whooping cough, pinworms, trichomonas vaginalis, head lice, and scabies. Fishwort has the effect of clearing away heat and detoxification, diuretic and diaphoretic (to improve urinary dribbling, urinary volume is not clear), eliminating carbuncle and pus, treating lung carbuncle spitting pus, phlegm-heat asthma and coughing, hot dysentery, feverish drenching (burning and tingling during urination, accompanied by frequent urination and urgent urination, abdominal traction discomfort), carbuncle and swollen sores and poisons. It is contraindicated in cold deficiency and yin sores. The tonic fat has the effect of warming the kidney to help yang, naturing the qi and calming asthma (astringent qi to alleviate coughing and asthma), warming the spleen and stopping diarrhea, eliminating wind and dispelling blemishes, and treating impotence and spermatorrhea, dysuria and urinary frequency, lumbar and knee coldness and pain, renal deficiency and asthma, and diarrhea (diarrhea before dawn), and externally treating vitiligo and spot baldness. It is contraindicated in cases of yin deficiency and fire exuberance, constipation. Adverse effects of the above drugs are not clear.
