Full femtosecond surgery requires a corneal incision, and even though the incision is small and heals quickly, it is still necessary to avoid alcohol during recovery. Alcohol may cause localized irritation of the eye, resulting in conjunctival vasodilatation, causing redness and increased discharge, which is not conducive to the healing of the corneal incision and increases the chance of localized infection.
It is recommended that patients follow the doctor’s instructions for care after full femtosecond surgery, have regular checkups, and consult the doctor promptly when discomfort occurs.
