Is a cervical biopsy 100% accurate

The accuracy of cervical biopsy is very high, but it cannot be said to be 100%. Cervical biopsy is a biopsy performed under colposcopy. Pathological biopsy mainly determines the type and nature of cervical lesions, which helps to clarify the direction of subsequent treatment and medication. Cervical cancer is mainly caused by persistent infection of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). When high-risk HPV types 16 and 18 are found to be positive, it suggests that there is a viral infection, and cervical biopsy through colposcopy is needed to clarify the specific lesions. Pathologic examination is the gold standard for diagnosis, and clinical treatment needs to be based on the results of the pathologic diagnosis report. It is suggested that 48 hours before the biopsy, the vagina should not be stuffed with drugs, and should not have sex, so as not to affect the results of the examination. Regular cervical cancer screening is usually performed.
