What are the signs of syphilis?

Syphilis is divided into stage I syphilis, stage II syphilis and stage III syphilis, with different manifestations in different periods. 1. Stage I syphilis: the main manifestation is a hard chancre on the external genitalia, containing a large number of syphilis spirochetes, which is highly contagious. One to two weeks after the appearance of the chancre, the lymph nodes in the groin or near the affected area may be obviously enlarged, but there is no pain, and there are generally no systemic symptoms. 2. Stage 2 syphilis: the main manifestation is the appearance of red papules on the trunk and limbs, which can cover the whole body’s skin and mucous membranes, even the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Flat warts are also one of the most common symptoms of syphilis in the second stage, manifested as single or multiple flesh-red or red flat papules or plaques, preferably in the perianal area, external genitalia, perineum and other parts. 3. Syphilis III: Patients may develop nodular syphilis rash, which occurs on the head, face, shoulders and back, and is characterized by clusters of copper-red nodules. Syphilis tumors may also appear, typical damage is 2 to 10 centimeters of horseshoe-shaped ulcers, the edge of the elevated, the surface of the sticky gum-like secretion. Bone damage, eye damage, cardiovascular damage, and neurologic damage may also be combined. Patients with high-risk behaviors worried about syphilis infection should consult a doctor in a timely manner, improve the relevant examination to make a clear diagnosis, not only based on the symptoms of self-judgment, so as not to delay the condition.
