Dampness obstruction disease cannot be cured by itself, and is characterized by slow onset and lingering condition. It needs to be diagnosed and treated according to the different patterns of cold and dampness obstruction, dampness-heat obstruction (dampness and heat evils gather to form stagnation), and dampness obstruction due to spleen deficiency, etc. It can be generally treated by medicines and acupuncture, and needs to be carried out under the guidance of physicians. 1. Cold and dampness obstruction: Generally, we can take Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San internally to dissipate cold and remove dampness; or acupuncture and moxibustion at Yin Ling Quan, Guan Yuan, Zhong Cui, Shen Que and other acupoints. 2. Damp-heat obstruction: Generally, it can be taken Lian Pu Drink internally to remove heat and dampness; or acupuncture and moxibustion at Yinlingquan, Quchi, Daxi, Diji and other acupoints. 3. Spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction: Generally, one can take Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San internally to strengthen the spleen and dispel dampness (through tonifying the spleen to expel dampness); or acupuncture and moxibustion on Spleen Yu, Gastric Yu, Yinlingquan, Sanyinjiao and other acupoints. Dampness obstruction cannot be cured on its own, so it needs individualized treatment after identification by a Chinese medicine practitioner, and patients should follow the doctor’s instructions and standardized treatment.
