Chickenpox is a self-limiting disease, most of which can improve on its own. Patients can improve their symptoms through general care, antiviral treatment and symptomatic treatment.
1. General care: chickenpox is a contagious skin disease caused by varicella-zoster virus infection. It is suggested that chickenpox patients should isolate themselves at home and avoid close contact with others so as not to lead to contagion; keep the skin clean and dry, wear loose and soft clothes, avoid scratching the skin so as not to lead to secondary infections; ensure enough sleep, avoid staying up all night and avoid overwork.
2. Antiviral treatment: chickenpox is a viral infection, can be given antiviral treatment, commonly used drugs are acyclovir, vasiclovir and so on.
3. Symptomatic treatment: when the patient has high fever, warm water bath can be given, and oral ibuprofen can be taken to reduce the fever if necessary; when itching is serious, glycerine lotion can be applied locally, and antihistamine drugs such as cetirizine can be taken orally to treat the itch if necessary; when combined with infection, mupirocin ointment and neomycin ointment can be applied locally to treat the infection.
It is recommended that chickenpox patients seek medical treatment in a timely manner, under the guidance of the doctor to standardize the use of medication, avoid private medication, so as not to delay the condition.
