Diabetic foot treatment

The treatment of diabetic foot includes medical treatment and surgical treatment. Medical treatment mainly focuses on active control of hyperglycemia. If hypertension and hyperlipidemia are combined, treatment should also be directed at hypertension and hyperlipidemia. The nerve-nourishing drugs, anti-oxidative stress and improvement of microcirculation can be added, and local debridement should be given. Surgical treatment mainly includes local treatment of the trauma, including excision of ulcers and bony protrusions under the ulcers, and removal of dead bone or infected areas. If the diabetic foot is combined with a large vascular lesion in the lower extremity, revascularization is also performed. In patients with complete vascular occlusion or severe infection, amputation may be performed if necessary.
