What’s with the white granules on the surface of the scrotum?

The appearance of white granules on the surface of the scrotum may be caused by physiologic factors, or there may be sebaceous cysts, folliculitis and other conditions.
1. Physiological factors: the scrotum skin is thin and covered with hair follicle structures, it can be manifested as white granules with hair growing out of the center. The patient has no other symptoms, such as itching and pain.
2. Sebaceous cysts: As the sebaceous gland structure also exists in the scrotum skin, sebaceous cysts may be formed if the sebaceous gland opening is blocked by not paying attention to the local hygiene in daily life, which may be manifested as localized white granules. Some patients also have no other symptoms, some patients may evolve into small abscesses, itching, pain, pus and so on.
3. Folliculitis: mainly bacteria, viruses invade hair follicles, inducing infectious lesions to occur. Patients may appear white particles, itching, pain symptoms.
There may be other reasons for the appearance of white particles on the surface of the scrotum, and the patient needs to consult a doctor in time for examination and early treatment.
