What are the staging criteria for chronic kidney disease

Chronic kidney disease is generally staged by glomerular filtration rate. Chronic kidney disease is a renal structural or functional abnormality for ≥3 months from various causes, including the presence of signs of renal injury (proteinuria, abnormal urinary sediment, tubular-related lesions, etc.) or a history of renal transplantation with or without decreased glomerular filtration rate; or unexplained decreased glomerular filtration rate (<60 ml/min) for ≥3 months. Usually, chronic kidney disease is mainly staged according to glomerular filtration rate, which can be divided into five stages in total. 1. Chronic kidney disease stage 1: glomerular filtration rate ≥90ml/min. 2. Chronic kidney disease stage 2: glomerular filtration rate between 60~89ml/min. 3. Chronic kidney disease stage 3a: glomerular filtration rate between 45~59ml/min. 4. Chronic kidney disease stage 3b: glomerular filtration rate between 30~44ml/min. 5. Chronic kidney disease stage 4: glomerular filtration rate between 15~29ml/min. 6. Chronic kidney disease stage 5: glomerular filtration rate <15ml/min. It is recommended that patients with chronic kidney disease should consult the doctor in time, complete the relevant examinations as prescribed by the doctor in order to clarify the stage, and standardize the diagnosis and treatment under the doctor's guidance.
