Hospitalization for vocal cord polyps is normal about 3 days after surgery, but there is still a period of vocal abstinence.
Most patients have very obvious congestion and edema of the vocal cords 1 day after surgery. Hospitalized for about 3 days, the symptoms improved significantly can be discharged first. Postoperative 7 to 10 days after the patient’s vocal folds due to the trauma caused by the surgery is basically healed, voice quality began to improve significantly, but does not mean that the vocal folds function has been fully restored, must be strictly prohibited.
Generally discharged from the hospital, it is recommended in the standardization of vocal abstinence for about a week. Because 8~14 days after surgery, although the function of the vocal folds has basically recovered, but the vocal folds are still fragile, some patients still have a certain degree of effort when pronouncing words, which can be used as a relative period of vocal abstinence.
If there are vocal polyps, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and standardize the treatment.
