A raised ridge of meatus in the occlusal line of the mouth may be a physiologic normal structure, or it may be caused by oral infection, granulation tissue proliferation and other pathological factors. 1. Physiological factors: it may be a normal parotid duct opening, symmetrical, mostly located in the medial part opposite to the maxillary second molar, which can be manifested as a raised fleshy ridge, and if it is not accompanied by redness, swelling, abnormal secretion and other symptoms, it can be considered as a normal physiological phenomenon. 2. Pathological factors (1) Oral infection: if the oral infection of pneumococcus, staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria cause erosion, ulceration or pseudomembrane on the mucous membrane of the inner wall of the oral cavity, it can be manifested as a protruding ridge on the occlusal line of the oral cavity. (2) Granulation tissue proliferation: such as dental caries, pulpitis or long-term repeated friction caused by local granulation tissue proliferation, resulting in a protrusion of the inner wall of the oral cavity of a meat ridge or granulation. Excluding physiological factors, if there is a protruding ridge on the bite line for a long period of time, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to find out the cause of the problem and actively treat it, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
