How long does it take for the stomach to stop hurting after a medical abortion?

Usually, a woman’s abdominal pain can be significantly reduced to disappeared about 3-5 days after the expulsion of the gestational sac from a medication abortion. Since the embryonic tissue is small in the early stages of a woman’s pregnancy, a medication abortion can result in the expulsion of the gestational sac. Medication abortion will cause contraction of the uterus leading to the beginning of abdominal pain, but the uterus of a woman will increase in size after pregnancy, and the uterus needs to return to its original size after medication abortion, and the endometrial trauma has to recover, so there will be intermittent abdominal pain, i.e. contraction pain, for 2 weeks after the operation, but this pain is usually tolerable. However, women with severe abdominal pain or persistent pain after medical abortion must promptly visit the gynecology department of a regular hospital to check whether there is residual embryonic tissue or blood accumulation in the uterine cavity. If there is residue in the uterine cavity, a cathartic operation will be required if necessary. Women should pay attention to rest, avoid straining, pay attention to personal hygiene, avoid strenuous exercise, eat less spicy stimulating and cold food, and forbid sex before the next menstruation.
