Is there a specific treatment for skin amyloidosis?

There is no specific treatment for cutaneous amyloidosis. Symptoms can be improved by local medication, systemic medication and surgical treatment. 1. Local medication: plaque or papule type can be used externally with glucocorticoid preparation, such as mometasone furoate cream, halometasone cream, etc., vitamin D3 derivatives, such as carbotriol ointment; retinoic acid drugs, such as retinol ointment, etc., which can play a role in anti-inflammatory, accelerate exfoliation, and prevent necrotic cells from accumulating excessively in the surface layer of the skin, and so on. 2. Systemic medication: for those with obvious itching, oral antihistamines, such as ebastine, cetirizine, etc.; for those with extensive lesions, severe itching and poor results of oral antihistamines, procaine can be used for intravenous closure; oral avitamin E is effective for some patients. 3. Surgical treatment: when the effect of drugs is not good in patients with nodular type, surgical excision or skin abrasion can also be taken to improve the symptoms. Patients with cutaneous amyloidosis are advised to seek timely medical attention and choose the appropriate treatment under the guidance of a physician to avoid delays.
