Cervical erosion and cervical cysts are not dangerous and are simply an outward manifestation of chronic cervicitis. During a gynecological examination, the cervix can be seen to have a celiac-like change in appearance, the tissue is brittle, and small capillaries can be seen. Cervical erosion is now discarded in medical terminology; it is simply an outward displacement of the columnar epithelium within the cervical canal. Cervical cysts, on the other hand, are mostly detected during an ultrasound or gynecological exam. The appearance of the cervix can sometimes be smooth, and sometimes one to multiple blister-like changes of varying sizes can be seen. If the result of cervical cancer screening is normal, it can be observed. If the patient is accompanied by a feeling of discomfort in the lower abdomen or a significant increase in vaginal discharge, appropriate treatment is needed.
