Standard Eye Drops Directions (based on Ophthalmology, published by People’s Health Publishing House, China, 2015, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Basic and Clinical Ophthalmology Tutorial): With one hand, pull the lower eyelid outward and downward (Fig. 1), and with the other hand, place a drop of eye drop into the lower conjunctival sac (the space between the inner surface of the lower eyelid and the eyeball, Fig. 2); close the eye for 5 minutes. Additional notes: 1. Eye drops should only be dispensed one drop at a time. A wet feeling in the eyeball means that the point in; the gap between the eyeball and the inner surface of the eyelid (conjunctival sac) can only hold one-fifth of a drop of eye drops, the excess will overflow out of the eye; do not point a second drop, and then point will stimulate tearing, and the first drop of eye drops washed out. 2. Close your eyes for 5 minutes after each eye drop; the second eye drop should be placed at an interval of more than 10 minutes from the first one.
