What causes a hard lump on the elbow?

The common clinical causes of hard bumps on the elbow are sebaceous cysts and boils.
1. Sebaceous cyst: This condition refers to a benign skin lesion in which sebum gradually accumulates and forms cysts, which are usually associated with blockage of the sebaceous glands of hair follicles. On examination of the patient, single or several nodules can be found, round in shape, with elastic or medium hardness.
2. Boil: This disease refers to an acute purulent inflammation of the hair follicle and its deep surrounding tissues, mostly associated with pathogenic bacterial infections such as Staphylococcus aureus, and clinically characterized by the presence of nodules in the affected area, which are reddish hemispherical in shape when observed by the naked eye, and accompanied by persistent pain symptoms.
If the above situation exists, it is recommended to consult the hospital in time, to clarify the diagnosis, and under the guidance of the doctor for symptomatic treatment.
