What is mesenteric embolism triad

Mesenteric embolism triad refers to the triad of superior mesenteric artery embolism, the cause of which is mostly atherosclerosis leading to mesenteric artery embolism. The clinical manifestations are in three aspects: acute severe abdominal pain, chest pain, palpitations and other cardiac symptoms, and also nausea and vomiting. Pain in the abdomen is the most common clinical symptom, and the treatment is mainly through interventional procedures. If the treatment is not timely, it can be life-threatening due to ischemic necrosis of the intestinal canal. As long as the diagnosis and treatment are timely, the prognosis is relatively good.
