The efficacy of Zaoxin Tu is to warm and stop vomiting (treating vomiting caused by stomach cold by warming the spleen and stomach), stopping diarrhea, stopping bleeding, etc. It is mainly used for treating all kinds of cold hemorrhagic diseases, vomiting of spleen and stomach cold, as well as vomiting during pregnancy and prolonged diarrhea caused by spleen deficiency.
1. Various kinds of cold hemorrhagic diseases, especially gastrointestinal hemorrhage, manifested as vomiting blood, blood in stool, accompanied by fear of cold, cold limbs, mental depression, etc., and often with rhubarb, Agaricus blazei, atractylodes, epiphyllum, and so on, such as Huangtu Tang.
2. Vomiting with coldness in the spleen and stomach, as well as vomiting in pregnancy, which manifests as vomiting after receiving cold. It can be decocted with Zaoxin Tu alone, or used together with ginger and half-summer to enhance the anti-vomiting effect, which can treat vomiting with cold stomach; for vomiting during pregnancy, it can be used together with Huo Xiang, Zhu Ru, and ginger.
3. Spleen deficiency and prolonged diarrhea, manifested as long-term diarrhea, loss of appetite, bloating after eating too much, body fatigue and weakness. It can be used with Ginseng, Astragalus, Codonopsis, Atractylodes Macrocephala, etc. for better effect.
