What are the effects after subtotal hysterectomy

The hysterectomy is the removal of the body of the uterus, leaving the cervix intact. After the surgery, there will be a change in menstruation, and most patients will not have further menstrual periods. Pregnancy is not possible after removal of the body of the uterus because it is the main part of the uterus where the fetus is conceived and pregnancy is not possible after removal of the body of the uterus. Because only the body of the uterus is removed and the cervix is preserved, patients also need to undergo regular cervical cancer screening, commonly known as cervical TCT and cervical HPV screening, because residual cervical cancer may occur in a very small number of patients.
