What is a spermatic vein diversion?

Diversion of the veins of the spermatic cord is a vein-to-vein anastomosis of the internal spermatic vein and the inferior abdominal wall vein.
Spermatocele diversion is a high ligation of the spermatic vein to the internal ring with an additional vascular diversion anastomosis at the round opening.
Spermatic vein diversion follows the hemodynamic theory, which is conducive to improving the poor microcirculatory perfusion of the testicular internal environment, preventing backflow of blood, promoting blood return, increasing arterial perfusion, and having a restorative and protective effect on the testes that are impaired in spermatogenesis, thus improving the quality of semen, and increasing fertility and androgen levels.
This is a relatively safe, reliable and widely available technique that can be of great help in improving fertility in infertility.
After the operation, it is important to stay in bed for 3 days, with the scrotum supported in a high position, and gently rub the affected scrotum several times a day to promote blood return to prevent venous thrombosis.
