There is a risk of not having surgery for choledocholithiasis for the time being. The risk is low in the case of common choledocholithiasis and high in the case of infection.
In the case of simple choledochal stones that do not lead to infection, there is no risk for the time being, but it is still recommended to treat them aggressively, as the risk of surgery is lower and the patient can have a better prognosis.
In the case of serious complications caused by choledocholithiasis, such as septic cholangitis, chills, high fever, or acute pancreatitis and infectious shock can occur. Therefore, the risk of choledocholithiasis is high from that point of view.
Therefore, choledocholithiasis should be treated at an early stage of hospitalization.
