What does the ovulation test paper mean when it’s dark and light?

One dark and one light ovulation test usually means that the luteinizing hormone in the urine is low, the follicle has not yet matured, or it may take longer than 48 hours to ovulate.

Ovulation test is a commonly used method to detect ovulation, mainly to detect the peak level of luteinizing hormone in the urine to predict whether ovulation is occurring. Usually, ovulation test paper has two lines, one is the detection line and the other is the control line. If the test result shows two color bands, and the depth of the detection line reaches or exceeds the control line, it is considered positive, which means that ovulation will take place within 1~2 days.

However, if there is only one red band on the ovulation test paper, the test line does not show color and only the control line shows color, it represents no ovulation. If there are two lines on the ovulation test paper, one dark and one light, and the depth of the test line is weaker than the control line, it means that the test result is negative, which is usually due to the fact that the luteinizing hormone in the urine has not reached its peak.

Generally the use of ovulation test paper detection needs to be combined with ultrasound, if the ultrasound examination of the dominant follicle diameter reaches 18-20 mm, it is a positive result, usually within 24 hours will have ovulation, you can cohabitate during this period, the chances of pregnancy will be higher.
