The common causes of shoulder joint pain include frozen shoulder, bursitis, rotator cuff injury, etc. General treatment, physical therapy, medication and surgery are feasible to relieve pain symptoms. 1. Frozen shoulder: It may be caused by chronic injury due to long-term over-activity, poor posture such as sitting or sleeping, which triggers aseptic inflammation in the soft tissues around the shoulder joint, resulting in pain in the shoulder joint. Infrared ray irradiation, ultra-short wave, intermediate frequency therapeutic instrument and other appropriate physical therapy can be used to promote local blood circulation and relieve symptoms. Oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, meloxicam, etoricoxib, etc., can also be taken to reduce the symptoms. 2. Bursitis: Inflammation caused by trauma or prolonged and repeated excessive friction and pressure on the bursa, manifested as shoulder joint pain. The bursa can be avoided by changing the daily life style, avoiding repeated friction and extrusion of the bursa. Localized hot compresses, ultrasound physiotherapy and other methods can be used for treatment. For patients who are not effective in non-surgical treatment or have repeated episodes, bursa resection can be considered. 3. Rotator cuff injury: rotator cuff injury may be caused by indirect violence, chronic strain, degenerative changes, and the symptoms of shoulder joint pain. It should pay attention to proper rest and avoid doing actions that aggravate the injured shoulder joint. The affected shoulder can be immobilized by plaster and the shoulder joint can be kept in an external position. Ultrashort wave physiotherapy can have a local anti-inflammatory and pain relieving effect on the shoulder joint. If necessary, arthroscopic surgery can be used. All the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
