The exact location of the second lumbar vertebra is located posteriorly above the lumbar region on the posterior median line. The specific positioning of this position is done clinically in the following two ways: 1. It is positioned through the thoracic spine. This way of positioning is relatively more accurate. First, the lowermost twelfth rib should be found, and the twelfth thoracic vertebra is the part where the twelfth rib intersects with the spine. Following the spinous process of the twelfth thoracic vertebra downward, the spinous process of the first lumbar vertebra and the second lumbar vertebra can be felt respectively.2. The lumbar vertebra is taken for its positioning. The patient is asked to remain upright or in a prone position, and the line of the posterior superior iliac spine is taken bilaterally, and the point where it intersects with the spine is usually located at the spinous process of the fourth lumbar vertebra. The spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra is felt upward along the spinous process of the fourth lumbar vertebra. However, if manipulation of the second lumbar vertebra is required, fluoroscopy, CT, and plain films are needed to reconfirm the exact location of the second lumbar vertebra.
