How to train to improve flat feet

Flat feet may be caused by congenital factors such as heredity, or by acquired factors such as prolonged weight-bearing standing, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. Pathologic types include flexible and rigid flat feet. Common improvement methods include conservative treatments such as muscle strength training, wearing orthopedic shoes or insoles, manipulative correction and surgical treatments. Specific methods need to be decided according to the patient’s condition.
1. Asymptomatic patients: generally do not need specific training to improve, normal moderate activities.
2. Flexible flat feet: often muscle strength training, wearing orthopedic shoes or insoles and other treatment methods.
(1) Muscle strength training: often carry out foot function training, such as doing toe flexion, using the toes to clip objects, etc., so as to exercise and strengthen the foot muscle strength, improve flat foot symptoms.
(2) Wearing orthopedic shoes or insoles: wearing orthopedic shoes or insoles can help to improve the distribution of plantar pressure, which can help to restore the normal shape of the arch of the foot and improve the flat foot.
3. Rigid flat feet: mostly corrected by manipulation, and the curative effect of exercising muscle strength is not obvious.
(1) Manipulative correction: the common method is inversion manipulation under general anesthesia, using plaster to fix the foot in the inversion inversion position, after the plaster is removed, orthopedic shoes or insoles can be worn instead.
4. Serious symptoms or conservative treatment is ineffective: if the patient’s condition is more serious or there is no significant improvement after conservative treatment, the patient can undergo surgical treatment.
If there are flat feet, it is recommended that patients seek medical treatment in time, under the guidance of the doctor to carry out scientific and professional treatment, to avoid delaying the condition.
