Itching at the base of the ear requires careful observation of the skin appearance of the itchy area. If the itchy area shows red papule-like changes, it is considered to be simple external ear eczema with vesicles, oozing, and peeling. It is recommended to take oral loratadine tablets and apply topical zinc oxide cream and glyburide lotion. If the effect is not particularly good, it can be replaced with clobetasol propionate cream and hydrocortisone butyrate cream. If there is no change in the appearance of itching at the base of the ear, it is considered to be a simple localized pruritus and can be effectively relieved by using a topical spray of compound chlorhexidine acetate. Do not consume too much seafood, mangoes, pineapples, eggs, or milk until the disease is completely healed to prevent aggravation of itching.
