If a patient’s nipple is accidentally cut, different treatments can be taken according to the severity of the cut: 1. If the patient’s nipple is mildly damaged with mild local swelling, pain, and a small amount of capillary bleeding, it is recommended that the patient be disinfected 2-3 times with 0.5% vigorous iodine cotton balls, topical application of Yunnan Baiyao powder or myogenic powder, and local coverage with sterile gauze. Most of the patients can be completely crusted and healed after 3-5 days. 2. If the scratch of the patient’s nipple is deeper and there is active bleeding locally, the effect of local pressure to stop the bleeding is not good simply through the external application of drugs, it is recommended to give alternate rinsing with hydrogen peroxide, vital iodine and saline to ensure that the wound surface reaches a sterile environment, and at the same time give sutures to stop the bleeding at the wound. Thus, serious infection can be avoided in deeper local wounds, and patients are advised to inject tetanus antitoxin or tetanus immunoglobulin within 24 hours of injury to prevent tetanus infection.
