Is it normal for a child to have pinworms in his butt?

Pinworms in a child’s buttocks are not normal and are usually pinworms, which require treatment such as general therapy, topical medication and deworming. Pinworm infection can be diagnosed if pinworm eggs are found in a child’s buttocks or if small white threadworms are observed. Pinworm infection can cause perianal itching, sleep disturbance, abdominal pain and diarrhea, anxiety and other local and systemic symptoms. Some children may also develop ectopic parasitism leading to appendicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., which requires timely treatment. The treatment of pinworm infection mainly includes attention to perianal hygiene and other general treatment; the use of pinworm ointment and other local drugs; the application of bis(hydroxynaphthyl)thiopyrimidines, compound mebendazole tablets and other drugs for deworming treatment. Children with pinworms in the buttocks are recommended to go to the hospital for early treatment. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
