MRIs of the lumbar spine are reviewed at irregular intervals, as prescribed by the doctor, depending on the condition.
MRI of the lumbar spine is used to look at the soft tissues of the lumbar region and the spinal canal to see the alignment of the nerve roots, the exit of the nerve roots, and whether there is any compression in the spinal canal and whether the spinal cord is compressed.
MRI of the lumbar spine is often used as a diagnostic tool for lumbar disc herniation and lumbar spinal stenosis, vertebral tuberculosis and tumors, vertebral compression fractures, and intravertebral canal occupations.
In the case of an average person with no lumbar discomfort and just a physical examination, there is no need for a routine review. If it is a review after surgery, usually a checkup will be done within 1 month after surgery to see if there is any hematoma after surgery. another review will be done in 3~6 months, and thereafter a review in 1~2 years will be sufficient.
Specific need to follow the doctor’s advice.
