Effects of Cistanchiakia and Liao Yang

Both Cistanchis and Cistanches belong to Chinese herbal medicines, and both of them have the effects of tonifying kidney yang and benefiting essence and blood. Cistanchis can be used in the treatment of kidney yang deficiency, impotence and infertility, while Luoyang can be used in the treatment of kidney yang deficiency, lumbar and knee impotence and weakness.
1. The medicinal source of Cistanchis is the dried fleshy stems with scaly leaves of Cistanchis or Cistanchis tubiflora from the family of Ledebouriidae, which is sweet, salty and warm in nature, and belongs to Kidney and Large Intestine meridians, and it can nourish Kidney-Yang, benefit the vital essence and blood, and moisten the intestinal tract. It is clinically used to treat or improve kidney yang deficiency, essence and blood deficiency, impotence and infertility, lumbar and knee soreness, muscle and bone weakness, and intestinal dryness and constipation.
2. The medicinal source of lock yang is the dried fleshy stems of lock yang, family lock yang, which is sweet and warm in nature, and belongs to the liver, kidney and large intestine meridians, which can tonify kidney yang, benefit essence and blood, and moisten the intestines. It is clinically used to treat or improve kidney yang deficiency, essence and blood deficiency, lumbar and knee impotence, impotence and spermatorrhea, and intestinal dryness and constipation.
It should be noted that neither Cistanchis nor Luoyang is suitable for people with deficiency of yin and fire, hot constipation or loose stools.
