Bevacizumab is generally recommended for long-term use if it is effective, and only when the patient experiences intolerable side effects, or when the patient’s cancer is resistant to bevacizumab, leading to disease progression, will the doctor recommend discontinuing the use of bevacizumab, and switching to other anticancer therapies. Bevacizumab is an anti-angiogenic targeted drug, which is mainly used in the treatment of advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, or advanced part of colorectal cancer patients, and it needs to be used for a long period of time if the drug treatment is effective. If the drug is effective, long-term use is needed. However, if the patients cannot tolerate the serious side effects such as bleeding, high blood pressure or proteinuria after long-term use, or if the patients have drug-resistant cancer disease development, then they need to stop using bevacizumab. It is recommended that patients use the drug under the guidance of a doctor, do not blindly use and stop the drug, so as not to delay the condition.
