Why is there a burning and tingling sensation in the skin of the thighs?

A burning-like tingling sensation in the skin of the thigh must be considered for the presence of shingles. If there are small dotted or striped herpes on the surface of the thigh, it is considered that the herpes zoster virus has invaded the skin nerves of the thigh and a burning tingling sensation may occur, as well as localized numbness or radiating pain. If there is no abnormal local skin rash, it is possible that the nerves in the thigh are inflamed, especially the dermatomal neuritis of the anterolateral thigh, which is a sterile inflammation. It may also be due to diseases of the lumbar spine or hip that affect the nerve roots of the thigh, which may also show abnormal sensation of the nerves in the thigh.
