What’s wrong with brown urine in kids?

Children with brown urine may be caused by physiological factors, but also may be caused by some diseases such as urinary stones, nephritis, hepatitis and so on. 1. Physiological factors: (1) urine concentration: hotter weather, more exercise, drink less water and other factors lead to a lack of water in the child’s body, urine concentration occurs, often leading to the phenomenon of dark urine. (2) food factors: if the child eats some food such as eating too much dragon fruit, etc. may also appear similar symptoms. 2. Pathologic factors: (1) Urinary stones: can cause damage to the mucous membrane leading to hematuria, which looks like brown urine. (2) Nephritis: patients due to the destruction of the filtration membrane, which can lead to blood cells with the urine discharged and thus lead to darker color. (3) Hepatitis: Some liver and gallbladder diseases such as hepatitis lead to elevated total bilirubin due to damage to the liver. Bilirubin in the form of urobilinogen is excreted with urine, and when the concentration is too high, it leads to brown urine. Children with brown urine may also be caused by other factors, after excluding physiological factors, should immediately go to the regular hospital for treatment, and strive for early recovery.
