What is malignant mesothelioma

Malignant mesothelioma is a solid tumor and refers to malignant tumors that occur in the pleura and peritoneum. The cause of its pathogenesis is unclear, and there is some correlation with chronic inflammation. Because it occurs in special locations such as pleura and peritoneum, there is no very effective treatment method, surgery is not possible, and clinical treatment can only be based on chemotherapy. For different patients and different medical conditions, the choice of treatment is very different. Clinically, the combination of pemetrexed, cisplatin and other drugs is mostly used, but the overall treatment effect is poor and the prognosis of patients is poor.
