How to Treat Bumpy Scars

Depressed scars, also known as atrophic scars, and raised scars, also known as hyperplastic scars, can be treated by laser therapy and surgery. 1. Atrophic scar: caused by trauma and large dermal tissue loss, through the carbon dioxide fractional laser, erbium laser, to promote dermal collagen remodeling, improve scarring. Microneedle therapy can also be chosen, which can form small puncture holes in the dermis and epidermis to restart the skin’s damage repair process and stimulate the production of collagen to improve the appearance of keloid scars. 2. Proliferative scar: Silicone gel, allantoin gel and other drugs can be used to inhibit scar proliferation at the early stage of scar formation; intra-scar injections can be used to improve the proliferative scar during the stabilization period; carbon dioxide fractional laser and erbium laser can also be used to remove part of the scar to improve the appearance of the scar; and direct surgical excision and re-tensioning of the suture can also be considered. The above treatments should be carried out under the guidance of specialists, and regular hospitals are recommended if treatment is needed.
