Can you drink alcohol after a tetanus shot?

Tetanus shots, i.e. tetanus vaccine, should not normally be drunk after vaccination.
Drinking alcohol will affect the efficacy of the tetanus vaccine, and it tends to irritate wounds, delaying wound healing and, in severe cases, causing wound infection. If you need to take anti-inflammatory drugs to prevent infection after trauma, drinking alcohol after taking anti-inflammatory drugs may produce a disulfiram-like reaction, and fever and shock may occur. Therefore, alcohol should not be consumed after tetanus vaccination.
Patients are advised to drink alcohol after a period of time and not to take a shower within 24 hours after the tetanus shot to avoid infection when the wound is exposed to water. After trauma, you should eat a light diet and consume sufficient nutrients to facilitate the healing of the wound.
If you experience discomfort after tetanus vaccination, it is recommended that you seek prompt medical attention to avoid delaying your condition.
