How can I overcome my fear of knee replacement surgery?

What is commonly referred to as “knee replacement surgery” is actually “total knee arthroplasty”, which involves removing a portion of the degenerated cartilage and bone from the surface of the knee joint, installing a prosthesis that matches the shape of the knee surface, and establishing a normal line of force in the lower extremity. Unsuccessful early surgery and unsatisfactory post-operative rehabilitation for the same affliction in the left and right neighborhoods have created a fear of surgery in elderly patients with advanced knee osteoarthritis. However, with the specialization of domestic joint surgeons and improvements in prosthesis design and surgical techniques, the efficacy of knee replacement surgery is stable and the quality of life of patients after surgery has improved.
