The pain at the bottom of the belly when pressed is not excepted as a result of cystitis. The patient should also have symptoms of urinary tract irritation such as painful urination, frequent and urgent urination, or a fever. The symptoms usually improve with more water and effective anti-infective treatment. Many patients also have retrograde infections secondary to invasive procedures, such as ureteroscopy or microscopic procedures, which can easily lead to secondary cystitis. The special anatomical characteristics of female patients also make them susceptible to retrograde infections, so care should be taken to prevent them in general. In addition, some patients are affected by pelvic inflammatory disease, which can also manifest as pressure pain in the lower abdomen and, in severe cases, significant rebound pain and muscle tension. In this case, anti-infective treatment should be given and, if necessary, drainage should be performed.
