Gentian Diarrhea Pill is composed of Gentian, Chaihu, Scutellaria baicalensis, Gardenia jasminoides (fried), Zedoaria, Mouton, Psyllium (salt fried) and so on. It has the effect of clearing the liver and gallbladder and inducing dampness and heat. It is used for dizziness and redness of the eyes, tinnitus and deafness caused by dampness-heat of liver and gallbladder, dystocia and bitterness of the mouth (pain in the area of dystocia and ribcage, bitterness of the mouth), redness of the urine, and bringing down of the belt with dampness-heat.
It should not be taken for a long time by those with weak spleen and stomach, and should be used with caution by pregnant women and those with stomach cold. Use with caution in pregnant women. Children, lactating women, the elderly and the weak and those with spleen deficiency and loose stools (thin and unformed feces) should take the medicine under the guidance of a physician.
