Do you need to retest the HCG level after ectopic pregnancy surgery?

After the ectopic pregnancy surgery, the HCG level should be monitored once a week until the HCG level returns to normal, i.e. not pregnant. If the HCG level gradually decreases, this is normal. If the HCG value gradually rises, this indicates that the site of ectopic pregnancy has not been completely cleared, or that the chorionic tissue of the pregnancy may have fallen into the abdominal cavity and continue to be pregnant in the abdominal cavity, requiring symptomatic treatment with medication to kill the embryo, which is often done clinically with methotrexate injections. If the HCG value returns to normal, a pelvic ultrasound is done 1 month after the surgery, and a review can be done to check whether the pelvic cavity and the surgical incision are recovering well, and if everything is normal it is completely cured.
