The pitted acne marks on the boys’ faces may be the depressed scar left behind by acne, the so-called “acne pits”, and currently the main means of restoration are drugs, photoelectric treatment and surgery. 1. Medication: Topical isotretinoin and salicylic acid can help keratinocyte metabolism and promote collagen renewal. Disadvantage: limited effect on deeper scars. 2. Photoelectricity treatment: the more commonly used photoelectricity treatment is carbon dioxide fractional laser, which can repair depressed scar to a certain extent. The disadvantages are: more pain, longer recovery period, and the need for multiple treatments. 3. Surgical treatment: for larger and more serious depressed scar, surgical treatment can be considered after excluding relevant contraindications, such as keloid drilling. Disadvantages: large trauma, need for post-operative care, may form new scars. Severe depressed scars may not be completely restored to healthy skin even after active treatment, and it is recommended to adopt an “improvement” mentality during the treatment process.
