Dietary principles for cancer prevention

1.Advocate smoking cessation. The relationship between smoking and lung cancer, just like the relationship between infectious hepatitis and hepatitis B virus, is well known, the more you smoke, the longer you smoke, the greater the risk of cancer, for example, the number of people who die of lung cancer after smoking more than two packs a day is 15-20 times higher than that of non-smokers. The elderly are prone to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which in turn lowers the defense function of the lungs, and the synergistic effect of smoking on cancer increases the risk factors for cancer. In order to prevent lung, larynx, esophagus, stomach cancer, etc., smoking should be stopped, then 30% of people can avoid dying from tumors.
2.Change bad habits and lifestyle, pay attention to dietary hygiene. Do not overeat, drink less or do not drink alcohol; do not eat burnt food, do not eat food that is too hot, do not eat moldy food; avoid high-fat diet, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, keep bowel movement smooth; prevent eating food that may be contaminated by carcinogenic substances, such as pesticides, preservatives, colorants, etc., which is of great practical significance to prevent the occurrence of stomach, esophagus, liver and colorectal cancer. Europe and the United States are reducing smoking rates on the one hand and diet control on the other, which together are estimated to reduce cancer by 20%.
The root cause of the often mentioned “couple cancer” is that many couples with cancer prefer high-fat, high-protein foods and rarely eat fresh vegetables and fruits. This phenomenon shows that maintaining a good lifestyle and habits in the family is an important condition for cancer prevention.
In 2002, the World Cancer Research Foundation invited 16 famous experts from 8 countries (including China) to study the latest scientific research results on global diet and cancer prevention, taking into account the different dietary habits of different countries in the world and taking into account the prevention of chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, and put forward 14 dietary principles for cancer prevention. 14 dietary principles, which we should not call the “Jade Rules” for cancer prevention.
  (1) Eat mainly plant-based foods. Vegetables, fruits, cereals and beans should account for more than 2/3 of the daily food.
  (2) Weight control. Avoid being too light or too heavy, and the weight increase should not exceed 5 kg in adulthood.
  (3) Adhere to physical exercise. There should be about 1 hour of brisk walking or similar exercise every day. Every week should be 1 hour of vigorous exercise, walking, cycling, swimming, climbing stairs, room hygiene, etc., but exercise to the extent of sweating.
  (4) Eat more vegetables and fruits. Fresh green leafy vegetables, carrots, potatoes and citrus fruits have the strongest anti-cancer effect.
  (5) Eat more various cereals, legumes and plant roots.
  (6) Do not drink alcohol or limit alcohol consumption.
  (7) Limit meat foods. Less than 90 grams of “red meat” such as pork, beef and sheep per day, and fish and poultry instead of “red meat”.
  (8) Limit high-fat diet.
  (9) Eat less salt and preserved foods.
  (10) Food storage to prevent mold. Do not eat food that has been stored at room temperature for too long and may be contaminated with fungal toxins.
  (11) Keep food fresh. Learn to preserve food by refrigeration or other appropriate methods.
  (12) Pay attention to food safety. Food is safe only if the levels of additives, contaminants and other residues in it are below the limits set by the state. Hazards can be reduced by rinsing, peeling, soaking, and heating.
  (13) Cooking methods should be scientific. Do not eat burnt food, fish and meat grilled directly on the fire or cured or smoked meat should be consumed only occasionally.
  (14) Use nutritional supplements correctly. For people who follow the above recommendations, it is generally not necessary to use nutritional supplements. If there are special health conditions, supplementation should always be done under the guidance of a doctor.
Scientists urge: “Cancer prevention starts from daily life”. It is easy for people to adapt to old habits and do not change the stereotypes consciously. In fact, changing bad habits and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the most economical health resource and the most effective initiative to prevent cancer at present.
Since 70% to 80% of human cancers are induced by bad environmental factors and living habits, in order to overcome cancer, we need to acquire healthy habits by.
① Don’t just buy poor quality food for cheap; don’t eat unclean food; eat less fried, fried, baked, smoked, pickled and moldy food; drink less alcohol; eat less salt and high-fat food; eat more fruits, vegetables and other anti-cancer foods.
②Adhere to exercise and weight control.
③Do not smoke and drink alcohol.
According to WHO experts, if the above measures are taken and implemented, the incidence of cancer worldwide will be reduced by at least 30% to 40%, which is equivalent to 3 to 4 million fewer cancer patients each year.
Although human beings are inevitably exposed to various carcinogens through air and food in daily life, they will not necessarily get cancer if they are exposed to these carcinogens.
Because there is a certain dose-effect relationship between any risk factor and disease, and whether we get cancer or not is also related to other factors such as genetics and mental health. In fact, while the human body is exposed to carcinogens, it can fight cancer through intake of various anti-cancer substances on the one hand, and resist cancer through the strong detoxification ability of the body on the other. Therefore, people should be aware of the carcinogens around them and be alert to them, but they need not be overly panic.
4.Keep a balanced state of mind. Research has found that “good state of mind” is a common feature of longevity. Generally, there is no special way to maintain health, and people seldom consciously eat anything or not eat anything in their life, and live a life of peace and quiet. But generally love labor, attach importance to exercise, quit smoking and limit alcohol. When people reach middle and old age, their hearts are wide and their bodies are fat, and their clothes are narrowing after they become fat. To prevent diseases and slow down aging, it is important to keep exercising. People who love life, do not forget to exercise at any time.
More prominent is cheerful and optimistic, calm mind, no dispute with the world, contentedness and happiness. The great Russian physiologist Pavlov said: “All stubborn and heavy depression and anxiety is enough to open the door to disease”. Chinese medicine emphasizes that “positive memory, evil can not dry”, that joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear, fear and other adverse emotional over-stimulation is the source of all diseases, and psychological conditioning as the first step in the prevention of disease and fitness, treatment of disease. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that “a happy person will rarely get cancer”.
